Our advice would be to wait for the bugs to be patched, but ready yourself for a serious commitment to this vast CRPG.Owlcat Games and Prime Matter today opened digital pre-orders for multi award-winning, critically-acclaimed Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. “Pathfinder: Kingmaker is a phenomenal game with hundreds of hours of deep CRPG and kingdom management gameplay, but at the time of review it’s hampered by bugs that impact how you can enjoy the game, and with reports of progression halting issues and save file corruption. In our review of Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Definitive Edition, which came around that time, Gamoc said: The game came to PS4 and Xbox One with significant progression bugs, save file corruption and other issues, and Owlcat had to crunch out several patches to try and address these. The announcement of a console release is great to see for those who enjoyed the original, but there will likely be some wariness over it, after the troubled console port of Pathfinder: Kingmaker and the already buggy original release of the game on PC. In particular, one thing that players weren’t so fond of in Kingmaker was the time pressure that was attached to your kingdom management, and so Owlcat have tried to capture a similar narrative tension in a different way.” Oh, and just be more polished in general. “The goals for Wrath of the Righteous as a new Pathfinder game is pretty simple: be more epic, be thematically darker than Kingmaker, and make some mechanical changes here and there to simply be a better game.
